No escaping what's been done,
Thrust the sword into my chest,
Damned to the molten river (burn away my rotting flesh),
No escaping what's been done,
The chains are wrapped around me neck,
A soul dissasembled (to decay until there's nothing left)
Selfish mind refusing to atone for the truth,
Self-sacrifice will not fulfill the debt that is due
Relentless resentment,
Inevitable death (for the heaven sent),
Succumb to the weight of (your endless regret),
Beheaded in the trench (merciless dread)
Nowhere left to go,
Lay in chains while the flame consumes,
Divine judgement passed unto the child of God,
No heaven above with demons clawing at your feet
Guardian angels absent as you wither beneath
[Ben from Granite State]
I stare into the abyss as it stares back at me,
Body and soul torn limb from limb,
Left to feel so incomplete,
Your god has left you decayed
No easy way out for the god you've denounced,
By blood we will come (for the one who's devout)
Red sea of bodies,
(From the trees) hang the limbs of the ungodly

Wonderful dramatic opening, the voice of a black woman in all her honesty, vulnerability and openess. And then one of the fiercest tracks of Zulu, total hardcore: 'Now they are through with me', full of twists and turns, and suddenly ending in a kind of soul-track, brilliant! This is 21st century music at it's best. The end lecture is dramatic and disturbing, spoken again by a black woman. Makes you think. Hesperus
